Child Development Associate Certification Course    

The Child Development Associate (CDA) is a nationally recognized credential in early childhood education offered by the Council for Professional Recognition, a national organization committed to improving the quality of childcare throughout the United States. This program includes 120 hours of coursework during one nightly class per week for one year, on-site mentoring, and an opportunity to learn alongside others. Instructors strive to build a supportive, individualized relationship with each student working with their particular childcare setting and age group.

Mandatory Subsidy Training

Licensed Child Care Providers and Family & Relative Care Givers (non-licensed) who accept DSHS Subsidies are  required to complete a mandatory subsidy billing training by the end of June 2011.  This is part of the collective bargaining agreement between DEL and the union(SIEU). This training began in May 2010, so if you took the training prior to that date, you will need to take it again. These classes are available in person (see chart below) or ONLINE at http://www.childcarenet.org/. The link is located at the top-left hand side of the page.  To take this class in person, please call 1-800-446-2229 or 509-482-0996. You must be registered to take a class.

Subsidy Training is CLOSED as of June 30, 2011. If you have any questions, please call 509-482-0996. Classes will be scheduled to start up again in January of 2012.
